Join us for an interactive workshop as we study this fundamental tool for the careful employer: a clear, updated employee handbook. PA law is constantly changing and your handbook must reflect such changes. This presentation will provide tips on drafting the proper employee handbook and ensuring that the handbook meets today’s legal climate.

Seminar: Markets and Niches Do Not Matter But Five Things Do

The Laurence A.  Baiada Center for Entrepreneurship Presents
“Markets and Niches Do Not Matter – But Here are the Five Things That Do

Tuesday, January 12 | 5 – 7 p.m.
Laurence A. Baiada Center for Entrepreneurship
3225 Arch Street, Ground Floor
Drexel University’s Main Campus

Entrepreneurs often fall into the trap of “building a better mousetrap”. The truth is there are plenty of people improving the mousetrap. There isn’t a market in the world that doesn’t have competition, or if it does not exist now, it will very soon. Markets and niches are not enough to ensure your success.

The sobering statistics are:
  • 94 percent of companies never get to $1 million in annual revenue
  • You have a 1 in 250 chance of getting to $10 million
  • You have a 50 percent chance of being in existence in 4 years
  • Less than 10 percent get acquired as an exit strategy
Attend this workshop to discuss the other areas where organizations compete and factors that will determine your financial success or failure. Learn about the “Pyramid of Organizational Development,” its implications for entrepreneurs, and how the Pyramid supports the seven stages of organizational growth.

Workshop Leader: James E. Katzenberger, Principal, AccelerX Group

Jim Katzenberger is a partner and co-founder of AccelerX, a business consultancy that works with individuals, companies, and organizations that desire growth. As a senior executive with leadership experience at eight previous high-growth organizations, Katzenberger built AccelerX by having a detailed understanding of growing organizations and recognizing the importance of having a strategy for growth that balances the needs of the entire ecosystem of the organization. Katzenberger has applied his principles for growth with organizations from ‘single-shingle’ professional service providers to Fortune 100 companies.

In his career, Katzenberger has been a member of management teams that have delivered 50 percent to over 200 percent annual growth. As a consultant, he has worked with clients that have experienced similar rapid growth. Starting in the late 1980s, Katzenberger got involved in the implementation of business planning and control systems. This technical experience, along with his business and management background and his entrepreneurial experience, provides him a unique skillset to offer his clients.
